RIERA IMPRESSES

RIERA IMPRESSES

Albert Riera continued to show his qualities in the Greek league after impressive performances for Olympiacos. The second came courtesy of a fast break as a poor clearance attempt by the Kerkyra defense paved the way for Pantelic to break free on goal, only to shuffle a swift pass to Mirallas who fired home an inch-perfect effort to confirm all three points.

Albert Riera and substitute Ioannis Fetfatzidis both wasted quality scoring attempts, both efforts extremely difficult as Riera’s volley attempt smashed against the upright while Fetfatzidis swerved his one-time hit just over the crossbar.

The win means Olympiacos continues to set the pace with 39 points, five more than arch-rival Panathinaikos FC. Both sides are back in action on Saturday as Kekryra travel to Peristeri to face Atromitos FC while Piraeus is the scene when Olympiacos welcome Panserraikos.
