YILMAZ LINKED

There have been a lot of rumours surrounding striker Burak Yilmaz of Galatasaray. He has been linked with a number of clubs over the last few months including Chelsea. He was the second top scorer in the Champions League last season, which is an incredible achievement while playing for a club in Turkey.

The striker moved to the Turkish giants only recently, and he has already been linked with a move to various clubs across Europe. At the back end of last season, he was heavily linked with a £ 20 million move to Chelsea, but there has been no offer from the West London outfit so far.

It seems that Yilmaz will be set for a move nonetheless after several other clubs have also expressed their interest in the 28-year-old. Lazio are the latest to make an official offer for the player. Galatasaray have conceded that the striker will eventually leave the club, but he will not allow him to leave on a cheap. The Turkish club value the 28-year-old at £ 11 million and they said that any club matching this fee can sign him. Lazio, though, have offered only around £ 8.5 million according to the sporting director of Galatasaray, Bulent Tulun.

“This is the first official meeting with Lazio. For Yilmaz’s move to Lazio, it is only a matter of money. Should the right offer arrive, he can leave Galatasaray,” said Galatasaray’s sporting director after holding official meetings with Lazio in Rome. The transfer window will be closing down in the next few days and it is expected that Lazio will increase the offer in order to complete the signing. Burak Yilmaz was of the standout performers for Galatasaray last season. He scored 32 goals in just 39 matches for the Turkish club, as they won the title.
