Liverpool are reportedly considering a shock swoop for England international Callum Hudson-Odoi. According to reports from England, the Reds are looking to sign the player in the summer as Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of the forward.

Hudson-Odoi is yet to make a Premier League start for the Blues this season and there have been reports that he could leave the club in the summer. In January the player handed in a transfer request to the club as the player was keen to move to German side Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians had tabled an offer of around £35 million for the forward which was rejected by the Blues. The Mirror claims that Liverpool have begun talks with the player’s representatives as regard a move in the summer. It is understood that the 18-year-old is frustrated with his lack of playing time under Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian tactician has failed to give the youngster enough minutes in the league despite the player making good cameo appearances. The pair of Willian and Pedro have been inconsistent this season and Hudson-Odoi feels that he should be starting ahead of both players.

England boss Gareth Southgate has also made his stock to rise after giving the player his debut over the past week. The 18-year-old came off the bench against the Czech Republic before starting the game against Montenegro.

Liverpool are no strangers to swooping for Chelsea academy products having signed Dominic Solanke on a free last summer from the Blues.  It would be interesting to see how this plays out as the youngster needs to start playing regularly or he could be off in the summer.

Chelsea are currently sixth in the Premier League three points off Arsenal in fourth as they look to make the Champions League this season.
