Andrea Stramaccioni assures unity in his Squad

Andrea Stramaccioni was appointed as the head coach of the Italian club UdineseCalcio on June and the club is positioned in the upper section of the Serie A standings with only a few points away from snatching an Europa League spot and Stramaccioni has revealed that he and his squad of players have the same ambition as any other top club in Italy.

“We are a team that has the same ambitions as Lazio, AC Milan or Inter, and we must keep our ultimate goal in mind. There is a lot of work do to, but it is normal because we have a very young team. We have taken steps forward in terms of personality, but against the big teams we must avoid making mistakes.” Stramaccioni said.

Albert Riera dismisses attending any Poker Match

Albert Riera has denied suggestions that he participated in a poker tournament by missing a match for Italian club Udinese.

The former Liverpool winger is believed to have missed a match in order to attend this tournament. This has resulted in Udinese ripping out his contract without delay. Riera has denied those allegations and says that he is innocent. Rumours suggest that the former Manchester City man finished second in the tournament and pocketed winnings of around £ 3000. The 32-year-old has been playing with Udinese since March, but he will not be involved with the Italian club any longer.

NEW DAWN FOR SPAIN

The new era of Spanish Football has not started on a high note as turning up for the first time after the group round elimination in Brazil, La Roja suffered a 0-1 defeat at the hands of France.
This is the first time in the previous 8 years that Spain has lost to France.

Vicente Del Bosque, the person in charge of the Spanish side, started with a very young XI which had 3 players playing for the first time for their country.

There was no player in Del Bosque’s line up who was over 30 years of age.

So, considering the inexperience in the team, a 0-1 defeat is not the worst result for Spain.

And, that’s why De Bosque was not that much disappointed when he was addressing the press in Paris after the match.

Prandelli Sends Wishes To Conte

Former Italian national team coach Cesare Prandelli has sent his wishes to his successor Antonio Conte, who recently left the managerial job at Juventus to take over the Italian national team. Conte has long been viewed as the successor to Prandelli after doing a stellar work with Juventus last four years. After taking over the club when they were in the second division, Conte has not only managed to get them back into the Italian top-flight but also win three consecutive league titles. The 45-year-old was expected to continue at Juventus but he announced his resignation just a few weeks before the start of the new campaign.

Brazil Waits Anxiously For Neymar Injury Report

In Normal circumstances, the Brazilian people would have celebrated like crazy after that win against Colombia in the Round of 8 of the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

It was after 12 years that they were in the semi final round. It was a party occasion, but, unfortunately, the Brazilian fans were not overly happy.

Rather than celebrating, they were more concerned to know the reports of Neymar’s fitness.
The golden boy of Brazilian football had suffered nasty injury just minutes prior to the completion of that Colombia match and had broken his back. He was immediately stretchered off the ground and then via air, he was taken to the hospital where the doctors made it clear that the Barcelona striker would not be able to return to action before six weeks.

Ramos doesn’t want to brood over loss

Spain defender Sergio Ramos said that he didn’t want to spend one more second regretting what might have been and move on from the hammering and humiliating 1-5 loss at the hands of The Netherlands, but just like the wave of attack from the Oranje, the questions kept on coming for the Real Madrid man.

Ramos was meeting the Spanish media, which was much subdued than it usually is, and rightly so, after Spain suffered its worst defeat in the World Cup in sixty years, and the temperamental Spaniard had to contend with several uneasy questions regarding the performance.

Watford were playing against Charlton on Tuesday night but they were dealt a big blow during the course of the 90 minutes after having had winger Albert Riera sent off for a second yellow card. The former Liverpool and Manchester city winger did not take the decision from the referee lightly, as the argued his case for most of the time.

RIERA ON LOAN

Former Galatasaray winger Albert Riera joined Italian outfit Udinese on a short-term deal till the end of the season. He left the Turkish outfit in the January transfer window and has been looking for new club since then.

Immediately after joining Udinese, he has returned to England with Championship club Watford. This has been made possible because of the cooperation between Udinese and Watford for the last few years. Since they are owned by the same company, the two clubs have been exchanging players for the benefit of all parties involved.

RIERA JOINS KHARKIV

Former Liverpool winger Albert Riera has decided to join Ukrainian club Metalist Kharkhiv after being released by Galatasaray. He has been on the books of the Turkish club for the last few years, but poor form has meant that Roberto Mancini did not want to extend his contract.

He was released at the end of the January transfer window. He was for a brief period linked with a return to the Premier league with West Brom showing interest in him. However, he has chosen to move to the Ukrainian league where there is a much better possibility of playing regularly.

MORE SPACE

Galatasaray was forced to create space within their squad and Riera was one of the performers of the club that had to see his way out of the Turkish side in order for Alex Telles and Izet Hajrovic to join the team.

Albert Riera rescinded the contract he had with Galatasaray for €750,000. He officially left the club in January 28 and was free to join West Bromwich and Valencia as those clubs were interested in signing the veteran midfielder.
